Competenz has completed the review of the unit standards listed above that were registered in July 2002.

Summary of review and consultation process

 

A working party was established to facilitate the review of the above unit standards and a questionnaire was sent out to stakeholders.  The feedback received from the questionnaire, and other feedback recorded in the Competenz database since the unit standards were registered, was discussed at a working party meeting.  The decisions made as a result of review and the draft new unit standards were endorsed by the locksmithing Sector Advisory Group of Competenz in October 2005.

 

Main changes resulting from the review

 

·        Unit standard 12918 has been replaced with new unit standards 22453 and 22455 to better express the skills required.

·        New unit standards 22451, 22452, and 22454 written to capture necessary skills and/or knowledge.

·        Special notes improved to better convey assessment parameters and update references to legislation.

·        Range statements updated.

·        Titles amended to better convey the overall outcome of each unit standard.

·        Levels and credits amended to better reflect the skill and knowledge requirement of the unit standards.

 

Unit standard 12918 categorised as category C expires at the end of December 2007.
