The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2009.
Reason for the revision
The qualifications were revised to align the statements about credit inclusion with the current approved policy as set out in the relevant Rules and Procedures documents http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/ncea/acrp/index.html.
Main changes resulting from the revision
· The purpose statements were updated as follows.
- To amend the credit inclusion sections to accord with current approved policy, which recognises quality assured qualifications with a credit value of less than 40.
- To amend the exclusions sections to acknowledge mutually exclusive achievement standards.
· A note has been included in the NCEA (Level 3) to clarify that the award of a Level 3 NCEA qualification is not equivalent to the award of University Entrance.
· The transition arrangements were removed from the NCEA (Level 3) as the transition period ended as of March 2006.
· The qualifications were re-issued as new versions on the National Qualifications Framework.
