Summary of review and consultation process
The review of this unit standard was triggered by the approach of its anticipated expiry date of December 2006. The opportunity was taken to update the content of the unit standard and ensure the unit standard was still meeting industry requirements.
The consultation process involved technical representatives from industry, providers, and assessors who were asked to specifically look at the conditions, content, and structure of this unit standard.
The main changes to this unit standard included the deletion of the assessment requirement of two Controlled Tyre Inflation (CTI) systems having to be covered, as this was found from feedback to be unnecessary, and the insertion of three special notes to clarify the unit standard requirements. Minor amendments were made to clarify the element and performance criteria statements.
Main changes resulting from the review
· Deletion of the special note stating ‘at least two different CTI systems are to be covered'.
· Insertion of special notes to specify legislation to be complied with and the amendment clause.
· Insertion of a special note detailing the two types of CTI systems being used by industry, and specifying only one type of CTI system's operation has to be demonstrated.
· Minor change in the title to reflect the two systems requirement being removed.
