The New Zealand Road Transport and Logistics Industry Training Organisation has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary of review and consultation process
The review was initiated in April 2006 to ensure that the unit standards were still fit for purpose and met the needs of the industry. An industry Advisory Group was established comprising representatives of operators, training providers, and assessors. The resulting draft unit standards were also circulated for comment by email.
No major changes were made to the standards, but the opportunity was taken to update legislation and improve some of the wording within special notes and performance criteria.
Main changes resulting from the review
The main changes resulting from the review of these three standards include the following.
· Technical changes to improve the wording and structure of the unit standards to ensure that they were easy to understand and able to be assessed fairly.
· The contents of these units were updated by industry representatives to ensure that they were relevant and met the skill demands of industry, referenced current legislation, and met legal requirements.
· Ranges were updated to reflect industry changes.
· Definitions and legislation were updated and amended appropriately.
· Special notes of each unit standard were reformatted and reordered to ensure consistency between these and other unit standards.
