The REINZ Industry Training Organisation Ltd has completed the review of the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP) above.

Summary of review and consultation process

 

The AMAP was reviewed to incorporate the changes from the review of all unit standards in the sub field of Real Estate and to take into account the review of the qualifications. This included feedback from moderators, and providers and industry stakeholders. The AMAP review also clarified accreditation and moderation requirements. Contact details for the REINZ ITO have also changed and as well the name of the ITO changed.

 

Compliance with new requirements

 

Accreditation requirements will apply with effect from November 2006.

 

Moderation system requirements will apply with effect from November 2006.

 

Accredited organisations will be audited for compliance with AMAP requirements from July 2007 onwards.

 

Main changes resulting from the review

 

ACCREDITATION INFORMATION (AI)

 

Visit waiver conditions

·        Replaced with new condition related to meeting accreditation requirements.

 

Industry or sector-specific requirements for accreditation

·      Criterion 1 clarified to include links with the real estate industry and additional participants in evaluation.

·      Criterion 2 added in relation to availability of technological resources and current industry information.

·      Criterion 3 clarified in relation to staff qualifications and professional development.

·      Criterion 4 added in relation to membership of REINZ and the requirements of the Real Estate Agents Licensing Board.

·      Criterion 6 added in relation to relevance of off-site practical or work-based components and health and safety.

·      Criterion 8 expanded to include regular systems to provide feedback to students, as well as systems for reporting award of credit results to the ITO and REINZ.

MODERATION INFORMATION (MI)

 

Moderation System

·      The structure and responsibilities of the system, and the sample selected for moderation have been clarified.  The ability for the ITO to undertake spot moderation has been included.

 

Funding

·      The ITO has included the provision to charge accredited providers where non-compliance results in more than one resubmission of assessment activities or moderation schedules.  These charges are set out within this section of the AMAP.

 

Non-compliance with moderation requirements

·      Processes for ongoing non-compliance have been clarified.

 

Appeals

·      The steps of the appeals process have been clarified.
