The Seafood Industry Training Organisation (SITO) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary of review and consultation process

The review of these standards was initiated by the Vessel Operations Advisory Group of SITO in response to feedback from the sector that the unit standards required updating to meet current industry requirements.

The Advisory Group set up a Review Project Group to review the standards. The Group comprised representatives from the fishing companies, assessors, and the training provider that has reported credits for the standards.

Main changes resulting from the review

The review process has resulted in the following changes to the unit standards.

· The titles of standards 15676 and 19437 have been updated to reflect the changes made to the standards.

· The level of standard 19439 has increased from level 4 to 5.

· Minor changes have been made to the special notes, elements, and performance criteria to reflect changes in industry practices.
