The Electricity Supply Industry Training Organisation has revised and rolled over the unit standards listed above.

Reason for the revision

Amendments have been made to these unit standards in conjunction with an overall review of the National Certificate in Electricity Supply Cable Jointer qualifications. Standards have been revised to reflect changes in legislation regarding the use of insulated tools, and entry has been made open to recognise changes in work practice whereby the progression is no longer from non-live to live work, but straight to live work.  The planned review date was revised to align with the intended review date of 2008.

Main changes resulting from the revision

· In all standards a sentence has been added to Special Note 6 stipulating that hand tools used in live work must comply with IEC 60900:2004 Live working – Hand tools for use up to 1000 V a.c. and 1500 V d.c.

· All prerequisites have been removed and entry is now open to all standards.
