Competenz has revised the unit standards listed above.  The unit standards in bold have also been rolled over.

Date new versions published                                                      August 2007

Planned review date for the rolled over standards                December 2009

The Planned review date for revised standards remain unchanged.

Reason for the revision

Competenz has reviewed the manufacturing and mechanical engineering qualifications. This prompted a reconsideration of the levels of standards in the Manufacturing Process domain.  All standards that were up for revision in the Manufacturing Processes domain were compared to the level descriptors as well as similar standards in the Food and Related Product Production Line Operation, Food and Related Product Quality, Meat Industry Generic, Dairy Generic, and Competitive Manufacturing domains.  The revision achieved much better alignment with level descriptors and similar standards in other domains.

Main changes resulting from the revision

·                Standards 4814, 19506, 21329, 21330, and 21331 have increased to Level 2.

·                Standards 4810, 19504, 19505, 19507, 20300, and 21332 have increased to Level 3.

·                Purpose statements and elements were adjusted, where required, to ensure consistency between them; and minor format and punctuation faults were corrected.
