achievement standards listed above.

Summary of review and consultation
process
This
review was part of a planned review cycle.
Feedback was received from the secondary sector and from the moderation
and examination systems. National
consultation on the standards has resulted in the proposed changes.
Main changes resulting from the
review
The term technological solution has been altered
to outcome across all Level 1
achievement standards to increase consistency of terminology. The words product, system and environment have
been removed from AS90047 explanatory notes, as the definition of an outcome is
adequately clarified in the curriculum document. These minor changes were made to clarify
understandings while maintaining the intent of the
standards.
An explanatory note, highlighting the
importance of context specific knowledge and skills, has been added to all Level
1 achievement standards that require the development of an outcome. The word creativity has been added to the list of
things that demonstrate a high quality outcome in AS90050.
Clarification of a given brief has been included within the
explanatory note for the definition of a brief in AS90045. This has been done to clarify that while
a given brief is presented to students it may require further refinement during
the undertaking of technological practice.
