Summary of review and consultation
process
This unit
standard has been reviewed as part of an overall review of the National
Certificate in Electricity Supply Line Mechanic qualifications. An industry steering group convened to
undertake this review found that this standard did not adequately cover the
actual operation of an elevating work platform (EWP), so an element has been
added which covers operation. In
addition the coverage of EWPs by standard setting bodies has been discussed, as
a result of which the standard has been further revised to ensure it is specific
to the operation of EWPs within the electricity supply industry.
