The Agriculture Industry Training Organisation has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published January 2007
Planned review date December 2011
Summary of review and consultation process
The review was carried out because these unit standards had passed their anticipated expiry date, and feedback from industry and moderators had indicated that changes were required to meet current standards for industry health and safety practices.
An industry panel meeting was convened with representation from moderators, training providers, and industry to discuss current industry requirements for on-farm safety hazard identification and control, and injury prevention. The content of registered unit standards was also discussed as part of this initial consultation process.
Draft unit standards were written and sent out to all stakeholders for their comments and suggestions. All suggestions from consultation were incorporated, and this version was reviewed and approved by the industry panel.
Main changes resulting from the review
The skills contained within the unit standards have been regrouped into more logical sets of skills and knowledge. This has lead to four new unit standards being created to replace the former five unit standards.
Unit standards categorised as category C expire at the end of December 2007.
