AMAP for Māori Performing Arts [Ref: 0149]

Revision and rollover of NZQA Māori Qualifications Services - Whakaruruhau Māori Performing Arts AMAP 0149

NZQA's Māori Qualifications Services has revised the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP) above.

Date new version published                        June 2007

The next AMAP review is planned to take place during 2012.

Reason for the revision

During the review of the unit standards in the domains of Māori Performing Arts Creation and Māori Performing Arts Teaching, stakeholder feedback indicated that the AMAP was missing the Fees Schedule for SSB involvement in accreditation process.  The Whakaruruhau supported the inclusion of this section and the AMAP has been revised accordingly.  The opportunity was taken to include sector-specific requirements for accreditation (as on AMAPs 0106 and 0166) where there were none previously.  These requirements only apply when accreditation is sought for standards at Level 4 and above because domains Māori Performance, Mau Rākau, New Māori Dance, New Māori Music, and Taonga Puoro are designated Base Scope of Accreditation for Schools (BSAS) at Levels 1 to 3.

Compliance with new requirements

Accreditation requirements will apply with effect from January 2008.

Accredited organisations will be audited for compliance with AMAP requirements from January 2008 onwards.

Main changes resulting from the revision
