Revision and rollover of Community Support Services Industry Training Organisation - Mental Health Support Work AMAP

 

The Community Support Services Industry Training Organisation (CSSITO) has revised the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP) above.

 

Date new version published                        June 2007

 

The next AMAP review is planned to take place during 2011.

 

Reason for the revision

 

The AMAP was revised for the following reasons:

·        To specify the accreditation option for new unit standards to be registered at Levels 5 and 6

·        To specify new industry specific accreditation requirements for staff selection under criterion 3

·        To meet current AMAP Registration Criteria.

 

Compliance with new requirements

 

Accreditation requirements will apply with effect from July 2007.

 

Moderation requirements will apply with effect from July 2007.

 

Accredited organisations will be audited for compliance with AMAP requirements from 1 November 2007 onwards.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

Version 3 replaced by version 4.

 

ACCREDITATION INFORMATION (AI)

 

Standard Setting Body (SSB) involvement in accreditation process

·        The accreditation option for Levels 5 and 6 has been specified for the first time to cover new unit standards.

 

Industry or sector-specific requirements for accreditation

·        Criterion 1 - accreditation requirements added in relation to evaluation of programme/modules.

·        Criterion 2 - accreditation requirements added in relation to accessing library facilities.

·        Criterion 3 - accreditation requirements added to require policies and procedures that will ensure that staff have a demonstrated ability to articulate recovery principles and models, and have familiarity with the service user experience; as well as qualifications (or progress towards qualifications) in adult education and assessment.

·        Other accreditation requirements have been edited for readability and clarity.

 

MODERATION INFORMATION (MI)

 

·        The moderation system information has been updated and is described more fully as a result of the change of responsibility from NZQA to CSSITO, and to meet the current AMAP Registration Criteria.

·        Provision for monitoring of actual assessment practice has been removed.
