Revision of Roofing qualification
National Certificate in Roofing (Installer) with strands in Concrete Roof Tiling, Metal Roofing and Cladding, Metal Roof Tiling, Membrane Roofing, Liquid Membrane Roofing, Torch on Membrane Roofing, and Shingle Roofing with optional strands in Translucent Roofing, and Foreperson [Ref: 0375]
The Plumbing, Gasfitting and Drainlaying Industry Training Organisation Limited have revised the qualification named above.
Date new versions published June 2007
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2010.
Reason for the revision
This qualification was revised in order to correct the transition arrangements in version 2, which was registered in November 2006.
It was the intention of industry that trainees currently enrolled on programmes of study leading towards version 1 of this qualification, or towards the expiring National Certificate in Concrete Roof Tiling [Ref: 0312], have the option of transferring to programmes of study leading towards version 3.
The transition arrangements have been updated to allow for trainees to transfer.
Main changes resulting from the revision
There have been no changes to the qualification requirements.
Transition
Trainees currently enrolled on programmes of study leading towards previous versions of this qualification, or towards the expiring National Certificate in Concrete Roof Tiling [Ref: 0312], may transfer to programmes of study leading towards version 3.
In all other respects the arrangements detailed in version 2 of this qualification remain unchanged.
