The NZ Extractive Industries Training Organisation has completed the review of the qualifications listed above.
Date new versions published June 2007
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2012.
Summary of review and consultation process
This review took place in response feedback from stakeholders; ongoing industry/sector demand for the qualifications; the need to update the qualifications in view of recent standard reviews; and to make them fit for purpose in today's industry environment.
Main changes resulting from the review
Optional strands have been added to each qualification; in the National Certificate in Blaster Coating with optional strands in Exterior, Workshop, and Supervision [Ref: 0800] an optional set has been changed to an optional strand; and titles, levels, and credits amended to reflect the reviewed standards.

Transition
People currently working towards versions 1 or 2 of the National Certificate in Blaster Coating (Level 2) [Ref: 0799] may either complete the requirements for that version or transfer their results to this version of the qualification.
The last date for people to complete versions 1 or 2 is 31 December 2008.
People currently working towards version 2 of the National Certificate in Blaster Coating with optional strands in Exterior, Workshop, and Supervision [Ref: 0800] may either complete the requirements for that version or transfer their results to this version of the qualification.
The last date for people to complete version 2 is 31 December 2008.
