National Certificate in Community Recreation (Level 3) [Ref: 1289]
Date new qualification published June 2007
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2012.
Summary of review and consultation process
At the request of the Community Recreation industry, Sfrito has carried out a thorough and complete review of this qualification. This has resulted in the existing Level 2 qualification being replaced with a new Level 3 qualification - the National Certificate in Community Recreation (Level 3) [Ref: 1289].
There has been discussion within industry about lifting the National Certificate in Community Recreation Level 2 to a Level 3 certificate for a number of years. Trainees working in the Aquatic and Recreation industries have jobs that are equal from a work perspective. With this qualification lifted to Level 3, all trainees in the Aquatics and Recreation areas will be training at the same level with clear pathways in both industries.
Main changes resulting from the review
The review has resulted in substantial changes being made and leading to the creation of a new qualification.
