The NZ Flooring Industry Training Organisation has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Date new versions published                        March 2007

Planned review date                        December 2012

Summary of review and consultation process

An industry advisory group made up of the training provider and industry assessors met on 28 March 2006 to look at the unit standards listed above as they had reached their planned review date.  This group suggested some minor editing changes to the unit standards, the need to update the legislation in the special notes and to designate two unit standards as expiring because they were no longer fit for purpose.  The draft unit standards were circulated for consultation and the changes endorsed in June.  The group also identified the need for new unit standards to address gaps identified during the review process.

Main changes resulting from the review

·        Legislation in the special notes changed to maintain currency.

·        New element and performance criteria added to unit standard 9781.

·        Credits changed.

·        Elements and performance criteria reworded for clarity.

·        Unit standards 17381 and 10848 designated as expiring as they are no longer fit for purpose.

Unit standards categorised as category D expire at the end of December 2009.
