The NZ Motor Industry Training Organisation has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Date new versions published                        May 2007

Planned review date                        December 2012

Summary of review and consultation process

This review is part of a major review of the motor industry and outdoor fabric product qualifications (QReview) being conducted by NZ Motor Industry Training Organisation (MITO).  The QReview Steering Group endorsed these standards after major consultation was carried out covering a wide range of stakeholders through focus group meetings and followed by industry wide consultation.  These standards will form part of the new qualifications for Industrial Textile Fabrication, Automotive Sales and Service, Automotive Mechanical and Electrical, Automotive Heavy, Automotive Specialist, and Automotive Body.

Main changes resulting from the review

·        Standard 876 has been replaced by 23741 and 23742.

·        Standard 5767 has been replaced by 23743 and reclassified.

·        Standards 391, 934, 968 and 5777, which all relate to estimates, quotations and costing, have been rationalised; this has resulted in standard 391 being designated expiring.

·        Standard 5777 has been reclassified.

·        The level of standard 934 has decreased from 4 to 3.

·        Credits have decreased from 4 to 3 in standard 5468 and from 6 to 2 in standard 5777.

·        Changes have been made to titles, special notes, elements, performance criteria and range statements.

Unit standards categorised as category C or D expire at the end of December 2011.
