Summary of review and consultation process

 

NZITO circulated the unit standards to their consultation network, providers, and advisory group to canvass feedback on any changes required to the unit standards in the Occupational Health and Safety subfield.  Feedback was received and collated and the advisory group convened to discuss the results.  As a result of the feedback received the advisory group and consultation network agreed to designate the standards in the Occupational Health Nursing and Occupational Hygiene domains as expiring as these had not been consistently used during the review period.  The advisory group met three times to review the draft unit standards and endorse the final results. 

 

Main changes resulting from the review

 

·        Unit standards in the Occupational Health Nursing and Occupational Hygiene domains have been designated as expiring.

·        Occupational Health Nursing and Occupational Hygiene domains have been designated expiring.

·        Changes to unit standard titles have been made.

·        Changes to credits have been made.

·        Changes to purpose statements, special notes, elements, performance criteria and ranges have been made.

 

Unit standards categorised as category D expire at the end of December 2009.
