The Ministry of Education and the Secondary Assessment business unit of NZQA have completed a review of the achievement standards listed above.

Summary of review and consultation process

 

This review was a part of a planned review cycle.  Feedback was received from the secondary sector and from the moderation and examination systems.  National consultation on the achievement standards has resulted in the proposed changes.

 

Main changes resulting from the review

 

·         AS90171 had a very minor deletion from Explanatory Note 2.

·         AS90171, AS90640, and AS90172 had the words 'molar mass values' replace 'atomic masses' in the final explanatory notes.  This was to reflect current usage of terms in secondary schools.

·         AS90640 had a change to the title to better reflect the outcome.
