Summary of review and consultation
process
This
review was a part of a planned review cycle. Feedback was received from the secondary
sector and from the moderation and examination systems. National consultation on the standards
has resulted in the following changes.
Main changes resulting from the
review
AS90001
The introductory statement, achievement
criteria, and Explanatory Note (EN) 6 have been reworded to emphasise the
outcome represented in the title.
AS90002
Some minor adjustments have been made to the
ENs to clarify evidence requirements.
AS90003
Clarification for the assessment focus has
been provided by adding to the introductory statement that the achievement
standard involves performing 'with ensemble awareness'. ENs 4 and 5 have been amended slightly
for consistency with other Dance achievement standards.
AS90004
EN 4 has been amended to clarify the
intention that the dance viewed for interpretation and response has been
'previously viewed and studied' by the student. Definitions for 'describe in detail' and
'describe comprehensively' have been added in the ENs, in order to differentiate
requirements for achievement with merit and achievement with excellence. Some other minor adjustments have been
made to ENs 2 and 3.
AS90005
Definitions for 'describe in detail' and
'describe comprehensively' have been added in the ENs, in order to differentiate
requirements for achievement with merit and achievement with excellence. EN 5 has been reworded slightly for
consistency with the other ENs.
