Assessment and Liaison business unit of NZQA have completed a review of the
achievement standards listed above.

Summary of review and consultation
process
This
review was a part of a planned review cycle. Feedback was received from the secondary
sector and from the moderation and examination systems. National consultation on the standards
has resulted in the following changes.
Main changes resulting from the
review
AS90209
Minor changes have been made to the
introductory statement and explanatory notes (ENs) to clarify evidence
requirements.
AS90210
The first achievement with merit criterion,
and EN 5 have been reworded slightly.
A new EN has been added to define 'key ideas'.
AS90212
Minor changes have been made to the title,
introductory statement, and EN 3. A
new EN has been added to clarify the difference between 'explain' and
'comprehensively explain'.
AS90213
Two new ENs have been added to help
differentiate achievement with merit and achievement with excellence evidence
expectations.
AS90214
The title, introductory statement,
achievement criteria, and ENs 3 and 4 have been changed slightly. A new EN has been added to define 'in
detail'.
