Revision of Community Support Services qualification

 

National Certificate in Community Support Services (Foundation Skills) [Ref: 1291]

 

The Community Support Services Industry Training Organisation Limited has revised the qualification above.

 

Date new version published                                                             October 2007

 

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2012.

 

Reason for the revision

 

The title of National Certificate in Community Support Services (Foundation Skills) [Ref: 1291] was exactly the same as the title of the qualification it replaced, the National Certificate in Community Support Services (Foundation Skills) [Ref: 1135].  This meant that certificates for candidates contained the same qualification title (National Certificate in Community Support Services (Foundation Skills)) for both Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications.  This was potentially confusing for candidates and employers and the revision was carried out to remove this confusion.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

The level has been included in the title of the qualification, it is now the National Certificate in Community Support Services (Foundation Skills) (Level 2) [Ref: 1291].

 

Transition

 

There are no changes to the requirements for the qualification and version 1 has been withdrawn.  Therefore existing candidates can be awarded the certificate with the level in the title from now on.
