The
Electricity Supply Industry Training Organisation (ESITO) has revised the
qualifications listed above.
Date new versions published
October 2007
The next qualification review is planned to
take place during 2011.
Reason for the
revision
Following
registration of the Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications industry
brought to the attention of ESITO that there were unit standards within the
Electricity Supply - Core Skills domain which were needed by anyone taking the
Electricity Supply Electrician Strand and wishing to become an Electricity
Supply Electrician. This domain was
therefore added to the list of domains available within the Electricity Supply
Electrician Strand to ensure that the range of standards available to anyone
taking this strand covered all the skills that might be required by an
electrician.
Industry
also advised ESITO that standard 1978 covered knowledge that would be valuable
to anyone entering the electricity supply field. It had previously been the intention of
ESITO to include this standard in the Electrical Strand of the Level 2
qualification, but this was not considered suitable and 1978 was therefore not
included. However, with further
advice, ESITO now believes 1978 should be a compulsory standard and have
included it in the Level 2 qualification. No other changes were made to the
qualification
The
opportunity was also taken to update and amend transition diagrams in both the
Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications, and transition arrangements for
version 1 of the Level 4 qualification.
