Responsibility for the unit standards
referred to above has been transferred from Tranzqual ITO to the Extractive
Industries Training Organisation (EXITO).
EXITO has completed the review of the unit standards listed
above.
Date report published
October 2007
Reason for the
review
During the development of Hazardous and
Special Waste Management standards, it was identified that similar skills
were included in the above standards.
Tranzqual ITO therefore handed over responsibility for the unit standards
to EXITO. EXITO then considered
whether these unit standards were fit for purpose and determined that they were
not. It was noted that the
standards had not been used since their registration in
2000.
Main changes resulting from the
review
As a result of the review unit standards
17159, 17226, and 17228 have been designated category D and will expire December
2007. There are no candidates
currently enrolled in these unit standards and therefore there will no impact
from the short timeframe for expiry.
Impact on existing provider
accreditations
None.
Impact on Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan
(AMAP)
The
standards have been moved from AMAP 0092 to AMAP 0114.
Impact on existing
qualifications
The following Tranzqual ITO
qualification is
materially affected by the changes.
They have advised it will be updated when it is next
reviewed.
