20348-20356, 21146-21150

Te Kaiāwhina Ahumahi has revised the unit standards listed above.  The opportunity was also taken to roll these unit standards over to extend their currency until a full review can be undertaken.

Date new versions published                                                          September 2007

Planned review date                                                                           December 2009

Reason for the revision

This revision was undertaken to update legislation, make minor amendments to clarify assessment requirements, and correct accreditation option errors on some standards.

Main changes resulting from the revision

·         References to the repealed Guardianship Act 1968 have been replaced by references to the Care of Children Act 2004.

·         Unit standard 20351 has been amended to add terminology introduced by the Care of Children Act 2004.

·         A number of amendments have been made to clarify assessment requirements, and to change the terminology used to refer to candidates from 'caregiver' to 'carer'.  The titles of unit standards 20350 and 21146 have been amended to reflect this change in terminology.

·         Accreditation option errors have been corrected on some unit standards (20349, 20350, 20352, and 20353).
