Date new versions published                                                          April 2008

Summary of review and consultation process

ATTTO carried out a review of the Air Traffic Services qualification and unit standards, after industry advised they were in need of a major review as they were not fit for purpose.  Due to the specialised nature of the air traffic services sector, an expert panel was selected to determine the skills and knowledge required for the Air Traffic Services domain.

Upon completing the review of the existing unit standards, 43 unit standards were identified as no longer fit for purpose, and it was decided they should expire and not be replaced.

No candidates have ever been signed into training agreements that specify these unit standards.

Main changes resulting from the review

All 43 unit standards will expire.

Unit standards categorised as category D expire at the end of December 2008.

Impact on existing provider accreditations

None.

Impact on existing qualifications

Qualifications that contain the reviewed standards or classifications are tabled below.
