Review of Funeral Services Training Trust of New Zealand AMAP

 

The Funeral Services Training Trust of New Zealand (FSTT) has reviewed the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP) above.

The next AMAP review is planned to take place during 2013.

 

Reason for the review

 

The AMAP has been reviewed to reflect changes in processes to better meet industry needs.  The need for change was identified during the review of the unit standards.

 

Compliance with new requirements

 

Moderation system requirements will apply with effect from July 2008.

 

Accredited organisations will be audited for compliance with AMAP requirements from December 2008 onwards.

 

Main changes resulting from the review

 

ACCREDITATION INFORMATION (AI)

 

Industry or sector-specific requirements for accreditation

·         Criterion 1 has been amended to clarify the requirements.

·         Criterion 2 has been amended to include equipment.

·         Criterion 3 has been amended to include relevant qualifications.

·         Criterion 4 has been amended to clarify the requirements.

·         Criterion 5 has been amended to clarify the requirements.

·         Criterion 6 has been updated to make allowance for simulations when conducting assessment against element 4 of unit standard 8343.

·         Criterion 7 has been amended to include details of the final embalming examination process.

·         Criterion 8 has been deleted.

 

MODERATION INFORMATION (MI)

 

Moderation System

·         Changes have been made to the requirements for Moderation Panel members.  The education representative must have credit for Unit 11551, Moderate assessment, or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills.

·         Specific criteria relating to the selection of unit standards for moderation have been added.

·         Fees relating to moderation visits have been added.

·         Moderation requirements for the practical examination which relates to assessment against unit standards 8353-8360 have been clarified.

 

Funding

·         Charges for visits resulting from non-compliance with moderation requirements have been added.

 

Non-compliance with moderation requirements

·         Process for dealing with non-compliant organisations has been clarified.

 

Appeals

·         Process for appealing moderation decisions has been clarified.
