Summary of review and consultation process
This qualification was reviewed as part of the scheduled review process for the Plaster Board domain, and in response to changing industry needs. Feedback was sought from a working party consisting of representatives from the Plaster Board industry regarding the structure and content of the qualification, which was updated following consultation, and subsequently endorsed by industry.
Main changes resulting from the review
The qualification contained a number of standards that covered similar skills but at different levels, the lower-level skills have now been removed from the qualification. Details of standards were updated to reflect the outcome of reviews. Two standards considered important to the construction industry have been added to the compulsory section. They are Unit 8492, Use standard units of measurement and Unit 22145, Handle construction materials. The level has been added to the qualification title.
