Revision of Pharmacy qualification

 

National Certificate in Pharmacy (Technician) (Level 5) with strands in Community, and Hospital [Ref: 0423]

 

The Pharmacy Industry Training Organisation has revised the qualification above.

 

Date new versions published                                                          April 2008

 

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2012.

 

Reason for the revision

 

An error was noted in the credit table, with the credit totals being associated with the wrong strands.  The qualification was revised to correct this error.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

The credit table has been corrected to reflect 137 credits for the Community strand and 129 credits for the Hospital strand.

 

The elective section in each strand has also been moved to create a core elective for the qualification.

 

Transition

 

People currently enrolled in programmes leading to the award of version 4 of this qualification may either complete that version or transfer to version 6.  Version 5 of this qualification will not be awarded.
