Revision of Building Service Contractors Industry Training Organisation AMAP [Ref: 0004]

 

The Building Service Contractors Industry Training Organisation (BSCITO) has revised the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP) above.

The next AMAP review is planned to take place during 2012.

 

Reason for the revision

 

The reason for the revision of the BSCITO's AMAP was to bring it into line with the current template and registration criteria.

 

Compliance with new requirements

 

Moderation system requirements will apply with effect from January 2009.

 

Accredited organisations will be audited for compliance with AMAP requirements from July 2009 onwards.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

ACCREDITATION INFORMATION (AI)

 

Visit waiver conditions

·         Circumstances in which BSCITO may waive their involvement in an accreditation visit have been reworded for clarity.

 

Industry or sector-specific requirements for accreditation

·         Individual criteria have been reworded for clarity.

 

MODERATION INFORMATION (MI)

 

Moderation System

·         The pre-assessment moderation section has been updated to reflect that all self-developed assessment material must be submitted to BSCITO for moderation and approval prior to use.

·         The post-assessment moderation section has been expanded to include further detail about how unit standards are selected for moderation and to include a statement regarding confidentiality and intellectual properties.

 

Reporting

·         Reworded for clarity.

 

Non-compliance with moderation requirements

·         The process used by BSCITO to handle non-compliance has been included, including the changes associated with this process.

 

Appeals

·         An outline of the appeals process has been included.
