Reason for the revision

 

As part of a separate review, Unit 23411, Demonstrate basic chainsaw operation in a commercial forestry situation, was introduced to cover commercial chainsaw use and unit standard 6917 was moved to the Non Commercial Forestry Skills domain.  Within the new context, unit standard 6916 was no longer considered a necessary prerequisite for non-commercial users.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

Unit 6916, Demonstrate knowledge of the Approved Code of Practice relating to chainsaw use, has been changed from a required prerequisite to recommended for entry to standard 6917.
