The ElectroTechnology Industry Training Organisation (ETITO) in conjunction with industry and other stakeholders has reviewed the above qualification.

The review of this qualification is planned to take place in 2013.
Summary of review and consultation process
The qualification was reviewed by the industry and other stakeholders following the review of the Industrial Measurement and Control standards. The outcome of the review reflects the experience of several years of training, assessment, and industry experience. It also takes into account the anticipated future skill requirements of the industry.

Changes to structure and content

· standard 20433 substituted for standards 8190 and 8201
· standard 20432 and 24885 substituted for standards 8192, 8193, and 8194
· standard 24884 replaced standards 2651 and 2656
· standard 24886 replaced standards 2650 and 2652
· standard 24887 and 24889 added to the compulsory section
· credit value changed from 223 to 228.
This qualification contains standards that replace, or are substitutes, for earlier standards. For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standards - see table below.

From the date of registration, all new candidates will be enrolled in programmes leading to version 3 of the qualification.
Candidates may either complete the requirements of version 2 or transfer to version 3. The last date for assessment against version 2 is December 2011.
It is not intended that anyone be disadvantaged by this review, and the above arrangements have been designed for a smooth transition. However, anyone who feels they have been disadvantaged may appeal to the ElectroTechnology Industry Training Organisation at the address below.
