Summary of review and consultation process
The qualifications have been reviewed as a result of a review of the standards in the Leather Manufacturing subfield domains. In consultation with LASRA (Leather and Shoe Research Association) and other industry stakeholders it was determined that the structure and content of the existing qualifications still met industry needs and that they needed updating to reflect the recent standards review.
Main changes resulting from the review
The main changes are the updating of unit standard titles as a consequence of the standards review and the removal of the Finishing strand from the National Certificate in Light Leather Manufacture with strands in Tanning, and Retanning and Dyeing [Ref: 0318].
