Revision of Resource Recovery and Zero Waste qualifications

 

National Certificate in Resource Recovery Operations (Level 3) [Ref: 1347]

National Certificate in Resource Recovery Operations (Level 4) [Ref: 1348]

National Diploma in Resource Recovery (Level 5) with an optional strand in Cleaner Production [Ref: 1349]

National Diploma in Zero Waste and Resource Recovery (Level 5) [Ref: 1346]

 

The NZ Extractive Industries Training Organisation has revised the qualifications listed above.

 

Date new versions published                                                          August 2008

 

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2012.

 

Reason for the revision

 

The qualifications were revised to add new standards for recycling and recovery, resource recovery operations, construction and demolition, and reusable goods.  The addition of these standards gives existing candidates a wider choice and opens up the qualifications to candidates from a wider range of workplaces.  During the revision it was noticed that the prerequisite diagram for the National Certificate in Resource Recovery Operations (Level 3) [Ref: 1347] contained an error.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

·      new standards were added to the elective section of each qualification

·      the prerequisite diagram in Q1347 was corrected and updated.

·      standards 23324, 23327, 23328, 24241-24246, 24248-24252, and 24254-24260 added to Elective Set A

·      credit range updated

·      prerequisite for standard 22967 corrected in prerequisite diagram.

·      standards 23326 and 23327 added to Elective.

 

National Diploma in Resource Recovery (Level 5) with an optional strand in Cleaner Production [Ref: 1349]

·      standards 23329, and 23331-23333 added to Elective A.

 

National Diploma in Zero Waste and Resource Recovery (Level 5) [Ref: 1346]

 

Changes to structure and content

·      standard 23330 added to Elective A

·      credit range updated.
