The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2013.
Summary of review and consultation process
SITO with its advisory review group consisting of industry representatives, industry assessors, and moderators has completed a review of the Factory Trawler Technician unit standards (17935-17954, 17958), and related qualifications.
The review took place in Nelson from September 24th – 26th 2007. The advisory review group met to ensure the Factory Trawler Technician unit standards and qualifications continue to meet industry requirements, are current and fit for purpose.

Changes to structure and content
· Title changed to incorporate the level of the qualification
· Standard 17958 has been added to elective 1
· Titles have been updated to reflect the results of unit standard reviews.
Transition
People currently working towards version 1 of this qualification may either complete the requirements for that version or transfer their results to this version of the qualification.
The last date for assessments to take place for version 1 is 31 December 2010.
It is the intention of SITO that no existing candidate is disadvantaged by these transition arrangements. Any person who considers they have been disadvantaged is requested to contact:
