Review of Extractive Industries qualification

The NZ Extractive Industries Training Organisation has completed the review of the qualification listed above.
Date new version published December 2008
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2014.
Summary of review and consultation process
The qualification was reviewed to remove standards from the qualification that were creating barriers for a number of candidates. Consultation took place with industry members, assessors, and moderators through meetings, emails, and phone calls. The Extractive Sector Advisory Group Members endorsed the new version of the qualification.

Changes to structure and content
· Standards 19862 and 19864 have been removed from the compulsory section.
· Electives 1 and 3 have been removed from the qualification.
· Standards 17279 and 19863 have been moved from elective 2 to the compulsory section.
· Standards 16686, 19860, 19861, and 21278 have been removed from elective 2.
Transition
· The last date for assessments to take place for version 1 is December 2010.
