The NZ Extractive Industries Training Organisation has changed the expiry dates of the unit standards listed above. The unit standards that had expired have been reinstated as expiring with new expiry dates.

New expiry date December 2011
Reason for the reinstatement
These unit standards had all been reviewed as Category C or D in the review carried out in June 2005. They expired in December 2006.
Subsequent to the review of these standards, the Energy and Chemical Plant qualifications were reviewed. The reviewed and new Energy and Chemical Plant qualifications have taken a significant amount of time to review and create, and were only registered in December 2007. Final date for assessments to take place for the expiring versions of these qualifications is 31 December 2010.
A change to the unit standards' expiry dates was necessary to maintain credit worthiness of the old standards in order to allow trainees to complete the expiring versions of the Energy and Chemical Plant qualifications.

The expiry dates of the standards have been extended to December 2011.

AMAP 0079 has been updated to show the reinstated unit standards.

The following Extractives Industries Training Organisation qualifications are affected and have been reviewed. The review was completed in December 2007.
