Revision of Retail qualification
National Certificate in Retail (Level 2) [Ref: 0993]
The Retail ITO has revised the qualification listed above.
Date new versions published February 2008
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2010.
Reason for the revision
The qualification was revised to take account of the review of Occupational Health and Safety unit standard 497.
Main changes resulting from the revision
The following changes were made.
Changes to structure and content
· The title and credit value of unit standard 497 was updated. As a result the compulsory credits increased from 25 to 27.
· The Elective requirement has been amended to keep the qualification total at 50 credits.
Transition
People currently working towards version 3 of this qualification may complete the requirements for that version or transfer to version 4. The last date for assessments to take place for version 3 is 31 December 2009.
This qualification contains classifications that replaced lapsed or lapsing classifications. For the purposes of version 4 of this qualification, people who have gained credit for standards in the lapsed classifications may continue to use those credits to meet the qualification requirements.
