Forest Industries Training and Education Council (FITEC) has completed a review of the standards listed above in conjunction with the Competitive Manufacturing Consortium of ITO's.
Date new versions published July 2008
Planned review date December 2013
Summary of review and consultation process
The Competitive Manufacturing Consortium of ITO's has agreed to develop a National Diploma in Competitive Manufacturing. The advisory group established by the Consortium has reviewed the currently registered Competitive Manufacturing standards and investigated the suitability of the Level 6 Competitive Manufacturing standards registered in Australia. As a result of this review changes to the title, level and credit of two standards. In addition 28 new standards were developed for registration on the National Qualifications Framework.
Main changes resulting from the review
· For standards 21530 and 21531 the word 'chain' has been replaced in the title with 'stream', value stream being the term used in New Zealand
· Standard 21530 has been raised from level 4 to 5 to align it with other standards in the domain, and the credit value has been raised to 10
· The credit value for standard 21531 has been raised from 8 to 10
