Revision of Civil Defence Management qualification

The Local Government Industry Training Organisation has revised the qualification listed above.
Date new versions published July 2008
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2010.
Reason for the revision
The qualification needed updating following the identification of expired standards.
Main changes resulting from the revision

Changes to structure and content
· Standard names have been updated to current wording.
· Levels and credits have been amended where necessary.
· Standard 17280 has expired and been replaced with standard 22445.
· Expiring standard 9700 has been deleted from the Compulsory section as there is no corresponding replacement standard.
· Expired standards 16811 and 17281 have been deleted from Elective B as they have expired and there are no replacement standards.
Transition
People currently enrolled in programmes leading to the award of version 4 of this qualification may either complete that version or transfer to this version. The last date for assessments to take place for version 4 is December 2009.
All new trainees will be enrolled in programmes leading to version 5 of the qualification.
This qualification contains standards that replace earlier standards. For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standards - see table below.
