Tranzqual has revised the expiring qualification listed above.

Date new version placed on NQF                                                   July 2008

This qualification is expiring.  The last date to meet the requirements is 31 December 2011.

Reason for the revision

The ITO gave 0680 a long phase out - to December 2011.  However, a long phase out carries the risk that unit standards might be reviewed and designated expiring.

In this case, unit standard 15164 was designated expiring in September 2007 (D category) and 24089 was registered as the new unit standard for logbooks. The requirements for Land Transport NZ approved courses relating to Classes 2-5, Passenger and Vehicle Recovery Endorsement previously required unit standards 15164 and 1734.  Following the implementation of the Land Transport Rule: Work Time and Logbooks 2007 only unit standard 24089 is required for the logbook component of these courses.

Main changes resulting from the revision

Version 3 of the qualification was developed to include reverse transition.  Reverse transition provides an exemption for an expiring standard listed in the qualification for candidates who hold a later standard.

Changes to structure and content

·         Exemption granted from unit standards 1734 and 15164 for candidates with credit for unit standard 24089.

Transition

It is recommended that all candidate results are reported against version 3 rather than version 2.
