Reason for the revision

 

Members of the original reference group representing the Whānau/Family and Foster Care industry raised concerns about the range statement for performance criterion 1.3 of this unit standard because it was a barrier to candidate achievement.  The requirement for the approval of research questions by the child's guardian could not always be met because there was potential for legal issues to prohibit contact.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

The range statement of performance criterion 1.3 has been amended to remove the requirement for research questions to be approved by the child's guardian.
