Revision of ElectroTechnology Industry Training Organisation AMAP [Ref: 0003]

 

ETITO has revised the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP) above.

 

Date new version published                                                             June 2008

 

A full review of this AMAP is currently underway and should be completed later this year.

 

Reason for the revision

 

The Offender Management Industry required changes in criteria 3 and 6 of the industry or sector-specific requirements for accreditation.

 

Compliance with new requirements

 

Accreditation requirements will apply with effect from August 2008.

 

Accredited organisations will be audited for compliance with AMAP requirements from October 2008 onwards.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

ACCREDITATION INFORMATION (AI)

 

Industry or sector-specific requirements for accreditation

·         Accreditation requirements for the Offender Management subfield (Appendix 3) have been amended to indicate that ETITO will consult an offender management industry representative during the accreditation process.  In addition, the following specific requirements have been amended.

o       Criterion 3 requirements extended to require applicant organisations to have policies and procedures to ensure that assessors: hold the Offender Management qualification at least at the level of the unit standards that they are required to assess against; and work in a prison environment for a duration of 30 days per annum.

o       Criterion 6 requirements extended to require applicant organisation to have policies and procedures to ensure that defined and documented arrangements (eg a memorandum of understanding) with Prison Services is established which ensures that students have access to practical experience in an operational prison situation.

 

MODERATION INFORMATION (MI)

 

Moderation System

 

·         Requirements for pre-assessment moderation relating to Financial Services and Insurance Services subfields have been added in anticipation of standards being registered for the Financial Services sector.
