Revision of Compliance and Regulatory Control unit standards

The Local Government Industry Training Organisation has revised the unit standards listed above.

Reason for the revision

 

Minor editorial amendments were made to comply with wording changes in the legislation.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

·                Following feedback from the industry and users a new special note 3 was added to unit standard 11282, allowing it to be assessed against in a simulated situation.

·                Changes were made to the range statement of performance criterion (PC) 1.1 of unit standard 10425.  'All practicable steps' was deleted and 'health, safe, substance' was inserted instead.

·                A new performance criterion 1.2 was added to unit standard 10425 covering 'All practicable steps' as there is a new section on this in the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992.

·                What was performance criterion 1.4 in unit standard 10425 (now performance criterion 1.5) has had the range statement amended.  'Health and safety inspectors', and 'safety advisors' were removed and 'inspectors, health and safety representatives' was inserted instead.

·                In performance criteria 2.4 and 2.5 of unit standard 10425 the word 'demonstrated' was replaced by the word 'explained'.
