Revision of Agribusiness Management, Irrigation, and Pork Production qualifications
National Certificate in Agribusiness Management (Agribusiness Resource Management [Ref: 1187]
National Certificate in Irrigation (Evaluation) (Level 4) [Ref: 1127]
National Certificate in Pork Production (Grower Unit Manager) (Level 4) [Ref: 1236]
National Certificate in Pork Production (Herd Manager) (Level 4) [Ref: 0098]
National Diploma in Agribusiness Management [Ref: 0647]
The Agriculture Industry Training Organisation has revised the qualifications listed above.
Date new versions published June 2008
The next qualification reviews are planned to take place during 2009 and 2011.
Reason for the revision
The revision was carried out because the qualifications contained farm safety standards which had been reviewed and replaced. These replaced standards expired in December 2007.
Main changes resulting from the revision
Expired standards were replaced, which increased the total credits of some qualifications.
National Certificate in Agribusiness Management (Agribusiness Resource Management) [Ref: 1187]
Changes to structure and content
· Standard 11852 was replaced by standard 23543
· Total credits increased from 60 to 63.
Transition
Training programmes for version 3 of the qualification may start as soon as the qualification is registered.
People currently enrolled in programmes leading to the award of an earlier version of this qualification may only complete that version if they have been awarded expired standard 11852.
From 1 January 2009, all programmes will lead to the new version of the qualification. The last date for assessments to take place for versions 1 and 2 of the qualification is 31 December 2010.
National Certificate in Irrigation (Evaluation) (Level 4) [Ref: 1127]
Changes to structure and content
· Standard 18425 was replaced by standard 23540.
Transition
Training programmes for version 2 of the qualification may start as soon as the qualification is registered.
People currently enrolled in programmes leading to the award of version 1 of the qualification may only complete that version if they have been awarded expired standard 18425.
From 1 January 2009, all programmes will lead to the new version of the qualification. The last date for assessments to take place for version 1 of the qualification is 31 December 2010.
National Certificate in Pork Production (Grower Unit Manager) (Level 4) [Ref: 1236]
Changes to structure and content
· Standard 11852 was replaced by standard 23543
· Total credits increased from 63 to 66.
Transition
Training programmes for version 2 of the qualification may start as soon as the qualification is registered.
People currently enrolled in programmes leading to the award of version 1 of the qualification may only complete that version if they have been awarded expired standard 11852.
From 1 January 2009, all programmes will lead to the new version of the qualification. The last date for assessments to take place for version 1 of the qualification is 31 December 2010.
National Certificate in Pork Production (Herd Manager) (Level 4) [Ref: 0098]

· Standard 11852 was replaced by standard 23543
· Total credits increased from 120 to 123.
Transition
Training programmes for version 5 of the qualification may start as soon as the qualification is registered.
People currently enrolled in programmes leading to the award of an earlier version of this qualification may either complete that version or transfer to this version. People currently enrolled in programmes leading to the award of version 4 of the qualification may only complete that version if they have been awarded expired standard 11852.
From 1 January 2009, all programmes will lead to the new version of the qualification. The last date for assessments to take place for version 4 of the qualification is 31 December 2010.
National Diploma in Agribusiness Management [Ref: 0647]
Changes to structure and content
· Standard 11852 was replaced by standard 23543
· Total credits increased from 149 to 152.
Transition
Training programmes for version 5 of the qualification may start as soon as the qualification is registered.
People currently enrolled in programmes leading to the award of an earlier version of this qualification may either complete that version or transfer to this version. People currently enrolled in programmes leading to the award of versions 3 or 4 of the qualification may only complete that version if they have been awarded expired standard 11852.
From 1 January 2009, all programmes will lead to the new version of the qualification. The last date for assessments to take place for versions 3 and 4 of the qualification is 31 December 2010.
