Revision of Real Estate qualifications

 

·      National Certificate in Real Estate with strands in Business Sales, Commercial/Industrial Sales, Residential Sales, Rural Sales, Commercial/Industrial Property Management, and Residential Property Management [Ref: 0101]

·      National Certificate in Real Estate (Branch Manager) (Level 5) [Ref: 1288]

·      National Diploma in Real Estate (Licensee) (Level 5) [Ref: 0100]

 

The REINZ Industry Training Organisation (REINZ ITO) has revised the qualifications listed above.

 

Date new versions published                                       March 2008

 

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2011.

 

Reason for the revision

 

Ministerial approval was granted of a Rule change required by the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand.  This rule change enabled the Council of REINZ to approve the changes to licensing requirements.  The qualifications, which encompass the new licensing requirements, have been revised to allow more realistic transition following the approval of the changes

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

Transition dates have been extended as set out below.

 

National Certificate in Real Estate with strands in Business Sales, Commercial/Industrial Sales, Residential Sales, Rural Sales, Commercial/Industrial Property Management, and Residential Property Management [Ref: 0101]

 

Version 6 was issued following Ministerial approval of a Rule change required by the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand to enable the Council of REINZ to approve changes to the qualification and licensing requirements.  The qualification has been revised to allow more realistic transition following the approval of the changes licensing requirements.

 

National Certificate in Real Estate (Branch Manager) (Level 5) [Ref: 1288]

 

Version 2 was issued following Ministerial approval of a Rule change required by the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand to enable the Council of REINZ to approve changes to the qualification and licensing requirements.  The qualification has been revised to allow more realistic transition following the approval of the changes licensing requirements.

 

National Diploma in Real Estate (Licensee) (Level 5) [Ref: 0100]

 

Version 5 was issued following Ministerial approval of a Rule change required by the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand to enable the Council of REINZ to approve changes to the qualification and licensing requirements.  The qualification has been revised to allow more realistic transition following the approval of the changes licensing requirements.

 

Transition

 

National Certificate in Real Estate with strands in Business Sales, Commercial/Industrial Sales, Residential Sales, Rural Sales, Commercial/Industrial Property Management, and Residential Property Management [Ref: 0101]

 

The last date for entry to programmes or courses for the replaced Version 4 has been extended to 30 April 2008.  The last date for assessments to take place for Version 4 has been extended to 30 April 2009.

 

People working towards Version 4 were given until 30 April 2009 to complete the version they had begun.  After this date credit gained towards meeting the requirements of Version 4 must be transferred to meeting the requirements of Version 6 of the qualification.

The date that exemptions can be used for transition has been extended until 30 April 2009.

 

National Diploma in Real Estate (Licensee) (Level 5) [Ref: 0100]

 

The last date for entry to programmes or courses for the replaced Version 3 has been extended to 30 April 2008.  The last date for assessments to take place for Version 3 has been extended to 30 April 2009.
