Summary of revision and consultation process
The ElectroTechnology Industry Training Organisation (ETITO) in conjunction with the Telecommunication Education and Skills Standard Organisation has revised the above qualifications as they had not been sufficiently used to inform a review. The format of the qualifications has been updated, and the content has been amended where necessary to reflect changes resulting from reviews of standards and the changing needs of industry.

Changes to structure and content
· Standard 2782 was removed.
· The credit value of standard 2780 was changed to 9.
· The level of the qualification was added to the title.
National Certificate in Telecommunications (Sales and Service) with strands in Sales and Support [Ref: 0104]
National Certificate in Telecommunications (Sales and Service) (Level 3) with strands in Sales, and Support [Ref: 0104]
Changes to structure and content
· Standard 2782 was removed.
· The credit value of standard 2780 was changed to 9.
· The level of the qualification was added to the title.
· The credit range was changed from 70-92 to 72-74.
· The credit value of standards 4993 and 61 were both increased to 6.
National Certificate in Telecommunications (Manufacture and Production) (Level 3) [Ref: 0106]
Change to structure and content
· Credit for standard 2780 was increased to 9.
· Credit for standard 1174 was increased to 4.
· Credit for standard 750 was increased to 2.
· Compulsory standards 745, 1175, and 1712 were replaced by 15845, 16407, and 15864.
· Elective standard 1183 was replaced with substitute 15848.
· Compulsory standards 754 and 6627 and elective standard 5914 were removed from the qualification.
· Minimum credit value increased from 64 to 73.
This qualification contains standards that replace earlier standards. For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standards – see table below.

· Standard 4903 was replaced by substitute 4946 in the Mechanical Strand.
· The credit value of the qualification was changed from 78 to 81.
· The level of the qualification was added to the title.
This qualification contains a standard that replaces an earlier standard. For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the standard below are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the substitute standard.

Although the format and details of reviewed standards were updated, there was no change to structure or content of the qualification; therefore there are no transition consequences.
General Transition for Refs: 0102, 0104, 0106, 0107, and 0108
People currently enrolled in programmes leading to the award of an earlier version of these qualifications may either complete that version or transfer to the new version.
The last date for assessments to take place for an earlier version is 31 December 2009.
From the date of registration all new candidates will be enrolled in programmes leading to the latest version of the qualification.
It is not intended that anyone be disadvantaged by this revision. However, anyone who feels they have been disadvantaged may appeal to ElectroTechnology Industry Training Organisation (see details below).
