Reason for the revision
Unit standards 1763 and 18931 were reviewed in 2007 and a new performance criterion was added. Further safety standard developments within the industry have led to changes in the best practice guidelines for the transportation of logs. Consequently, the unit standards were revised to ensure that they met current industry requirements. The opportunity was also taken to correct errors and ensure that the levels and credits allocated to the unit standards were appropriate.
Main changes resulting from the revision
· Performance criteria amended to reflect current loading and unloading, and log securing requirements.
· Credits increased from 6 to 10 for unit standard 1763, and from 10 to 15 for unit standard 18931.
· Minor changes made to entry information and special notes.

Impact on Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP)
AMAP 0092 has been revised simultaneously to reflect the change in name from Land Transport New Zealand to the NZ Transport Agency.
