Revision of Electronic Security qualification

 

National Certificate in Electronic Security (Installer) (Level 3) [Ref: 1102]

 

The ElectroTechnology Industry Training Organisation has revised the qualification listed above.

 

Date new versions published                                                          November 2008

 

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2014.

 

Reason for the revision

 

The revision was requested by the industry and additional consultations were carried out.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

Change of requirements to permit Registered Electricians, Registered Electrical Inspectors, or Registered Electrical Engineers holding an Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) Qualified Engineer Identification Card to gain exemption from requirements of standard 20592.

 

There were no changes to structure and content.

 

Transition

 

For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for higher level electrical theory standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the theory standard required by electronic security installers - see table below.
